Die Cut Roses

Today I'm sharing a card inspired by THIS card made by Debbie Hughes  (limedoodledesign.com)
Her cards are perfection, as is her photography - what an inspiration!

Using distress inks I watercolored a piece of paper, then die cut the roses, leaves and "wishing" sentiment. I applied Distress Rock Candy Stickles to some of the die cuts, then layered over a strip of vellum onto a patterned paper background.  The sentiment was coated with glossy accents for a bit of shine and dimension.

My tip today - It's always nice to give credit to those who inspires us.

Thanks for visiting!

Supplies used include:
Paper (Canson Watercolor Paper, Basic Grey Knee Highs 6x6 paper pad, Bazzill vellum)
Ink (Distress Inks)
Dies (Simon Says Stamp Single Roses, and Wishing)
Other (Distress Rock Candy Stickles, Glossy Accents)

Hello, more Penny Black

Today's card again uses the Penny Black Enamor stamp set.

I colored directly onto the stamp, spritzed with water and stamped several times onto watercolor paper.  I inlaid the oval die cut into the rectangle die cut, added a bit of twine and the "hello" sentiment (stacked 3 high for added dimension).  I was left with the negative from the watercolor piece, so I used this inside the card.  To leave room to write a message I again inlaid a blank oval piece.

My tip today - Many times you can use both the positive and the negative of your die cuts.

Penny Black Thanks

After several weeks of not crafting I finally have a card to share, a simple "thanks" with lots of white space.

Today I used Bristol paper rather than watercolor paper.  I stamped and colored the flowers, added a die cut sentiment, some twine and a few enamel dots, and this card was done.

My tip today - Zig Clean Color Brush markers blend beautifully on Bristol paper, a nice alternative to using water and watercolor paper.

Thanks for visiting!

Recycling in the New Year

Happy New Year!  Today I'm sharing two cards, using a bit of recycling in the new year.

Both cards use paint chips, and the second uses a fragrance testing strip (the alligator) picked up while Christmas shopping.  Since there are several die-hard U of F gator fans in the family I thought this guy was just perfect!

My tip today - We all have paint chips or other materials we can recycle into our cards.  They make each card unique!

Thanks for visiting today!
