A Pug Valentine

Yes, this is my last valentines card.  This one was made especially for my husband.  Our dog (a pug) was adopted from Pug Rescue of Florida.  They are an amazing rescue group, helping to get so many dogs rescued and adopted.  My husband REALLY loves our dog - yes he loves me too (but maybe not quite as much as he loves our dog).  And so I thought it fitting to make him a Pug Valentine.

This very cute (Clearly Besotted) pug was stamped and colored.  The heart and banner were made with the ink smooshing technique using distress inks. To give the heart and banner extra dimension I mounted them using craft foam. A few heart sequins, and my card is finished.

Hope you have a Happy Valentines Day, and thanks for visiting my blog.  Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Valentines, A Pizza My Heart

Today I'm sharing a card using a very popular (and very cute) Lawn Fawn Stamp Set.

And here's the inside of the card.

This card is really very simple. The images were stamped, colored, fussy cut and mounted onto some die cut cardstock.  A scrap of old patterned paper was added to look like a red checkered table cloth.

My tip today - Valentine's don't have to be all "hearts or pink or red" - you can say "I love you" in so many other ways (like, this "pizza my heart card").

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Supplies used include:
Paper (Canson Watercolor Paper, Kraft cardstock)
Stamps (Lawn Fawn Pizza My Heart)
Ink (Hero Arts Black Dye Ink)
Dies (Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles)
Coloring (Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers)

Make a Wish

Make a Wish - Today I'm sharing a card made for my son, who had a birthday recently.  I wish I could make all his wishes come true.  I chose this particular image for my son as he recently lost his pet parrot - he's always had a real connection with birds - and this bird has been with him for most of his adult life.  I wanted a reminder for him of how special his "Rocky" was to the whole family.

To make today's card I simply stamped and colored the image, layered onto some die cut patterned paper and added the die cut sentiment stacked 4 high for dimension.  A bit of wink of stella added that sparkle (hard to photograph) to the flame.

My tip today - Try to "personalize" your cards, it makes them all that more meaningful.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Supplies used include:
Paper (Canson Watercolor Paper, My Favorite Things Homespun Gingham 6x6)
Stamps (Stampendous House Mouse Cling Birthday Bird)
Ink (Hero Arts Black Dye Ink)

Coloring (Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers)
Other (Zig Wink of Stella)

Love You, Woven Background

Today's card I made while thinking about my mom, who would have been 90 years old today.  I miss you so much mom.

Do you ever make a card and have it come out EXACTLY like you envisioned it? Today I'm sharing a card that is exactly that for me.

To make my card I wove satin ribbon through the openings of a background die. I added a dark color cardstock beneath to make it pop.  I then stacked a "love you" die onto a heart cut from gold glitter paper, and onto a stitched circle die using that same dark cardstock.  Can I just say - I LOVE the way this card came out.  I hope you LOVE it too!

My tip today - Send your cards - the perfect ones and the not so perfect ones - each one will make someone happy.

Thanks for visiting.

Supplies used include:
Paper (DCWV gold glitter paper)
Dies (Memory Box Stitched Lattice Background Die, Simon Says Stamp Small Love You, Stitched Circles, and Sketch Heart)
