Today I have a bee-lated birthday card to share - going out to someone's birthday I missed - I hardly ever do that.
The image was stamped on watercolor paper using a hero arts wood block stamp, quickly colored with zig clean color real brush markers (two colors of green and two of yellow), and cut out using a hexagon die, then layered onto a background made using an embossing folder and die cut with a stitched rectangle die. Wink of Stella was added to the bee's wings, although you can't really see it in the photo. I LOVE the way this card came out, especially having the hexagon slightly larger than the background.
Thanks for visiting.

S'More Thanks
Today's card was made for my sister-in-law who shares the love of s'mores with me. She and her family recently visited and drove a very long way to help celebrate my son's marriage, so this card was to thank her for coming. When I bought this stamp set I thought the critters were deer. I thought I'd be "clever" and use a sentiment such as "you're such a deer!". But - they are moose - so my card has no sentiment.

A Birthday Card with a Story
So, first the story.
A few weeks ago at a card making day with friends we were playing around with the Tim Holtz Distress Marker Spritzer Tool. The first piece we did really was "a mess", not the look we were aiming for. But I jokingly said "well I can use that in a card". And they laughed! So I took it as a challenge to myself to do just that- make a card using it.
So, now the card.
The stitched square in the middle was that "messy" piece. It looked a bit like confetti, lots and lots of confetti. I layered it over some cool patterned paper from Photoplay (using fun foam for dimension), added a strip of pink holographic tape and some wrapped gold threads and popped a very old dimensional cupcake sticker (from Sticko) on top. You can see the sparkle of the tape better in this next photo.
So, there's today's card. Not all of our cards will be perfect, or even our favorites. But, they will make someone happy. And isn't that the point of card making, to make others happy by sending our cards.
So, enjoy your day, and make someone happy- send them a card.

Simple, But Meaningful
Today's card is simple, but has very special meaning, and was made for my son and his new wife. I saved bits and pieces from their marriage celebration and put them together to make this card. The ribbon was saved from my corsage, the silver square was part of the lantern table favors, and the background paper was wrapping from a gift they gave us. And the blue - that was one of their "colors".
Supplies used were minimal - Simon Says Stamp Stitched Square and Rectangle Dies, Silver Vellum and Silver Thread.

Linked Hearts
Today's card is simple yet very beautiful. The photograph doesn't show well, but in real life it had lots of nice texture. The papers were handmade paper from Blick Art Supplies. It was made for my son and his new wife's wedding celebration so I thought the die used was very fitting - Paper Smooches Linked Hearts. I am so happy for both of them. They are perfect for each other.

Sad Pug Card
First, I apologize for the "break". Life just got in the way. But I hope to be back to regular posts now, at least for awhile. So, onto today's card. A Pug Rescue of Florida volunteer, and one of the most caring people you will meet, has had some very serious health issues recently. This card was sent just to tell her we are all thinking about her, and wish her a very speedy recovery.
