I have a card to share today that I made for May Day. It's hard to see in the photo just how pretty that violet patterned paper is.
When we were young, my sisters and I had a "May Day" tradition. We would pick a huge bouquet of deep purple wild violet flowers, take them home to mom, ring the doorbell, and then run away. To this day violets are still my favorite flower. When I had lunch with my sister on May 1st she surprised me with a basket of violets - African violets, not wild - and she pretended to ring a doorbell. So nice!! I think that is the first time I've received a May Day basket. And of course, we talked about all those violets we would pick for mom. Great memories!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.
